Juventus’ pursuit of finding a solid midfielder has intensified, and with less than a month remaining in the transfer window, reports in Italy claim they may bid for Barcelona’s Andre Gomes.

The Old Lady is reportedly looking to bring in a solid midfielder to join Miralem Pjanic, Sami Khedira, and Claudio Marchisio, so as to form a quartet to give Max Allegri more options in the middle of the park.

The Bianconeri are preparing a bid to lure the Portuguese to Turin, having previously missed out on him last summer, when he opted to move to the Camp Nou.

The 24-year-old was in no way a cheap buy for the Catalan giants, as they ended up paying £35m in transfer fees and around £20m in add-ons. However, the attacking midfielder had a rather lackluster debut season.

Juventus’s hierarchy knows the massive potential that the Portugal international possess, and despite a poor start to life in Catalonia, they are determined to lure him to the Allianz Stadium, in spite of his huge wage demands.

In fact, many other clubs know what the midfielder is capable of, with Premier League giants Manchester United too, expressing their interest in signing the 24-year-old.

However, with Emre Can set to renew his Liverpool contract, Nemanja Matic joining Manchester United, and Sevilla refusing to lower down the £40m asking price for Steven N’Zonzi, Juventus don’t have a lot of options in the market, which is why their administration would be keen to bring the Portuguese onboard.
