Former England midfielder Jamie Redknapp believes that Manchester United would be favourites to win the Premier League title this season if they succeed in capturing Gareth Bale from European Champions Real Madrid.
Bale’s future has been under serious speculation in recent months, and the 28-year-old has been constantly linked with a move away from Real Madrid this summer, with United boss Jose Mourinho reported to be very interested in the Welshman.
And now, according to Sky Sports News, former Liverpool man Jamie Redknapp believes that if the move was to materialize this summer, then the Red Devils would undoubtedly be the favourites to capture the Premier League silverware this season.
Redknapp, who already seems to be fair to hand over the trophy to United if they sign Bale even before the season starts, also commented on how good a player the Welsh winger is, by stating that he would ‘rip the Premier League apart’ if Mourinho completes his signing.
Redknapp said: “If it did (happen) I think you should just give Manchester United the trophy now.
“It won’t be to do with anyone else because Gareth Bale is that good. He would rip the Premier League apart if he came here. I think the way that he plays – in that team – he would be sensational. There are only a few players that can do what he can. He is sensational. He is made for the Premier League.”
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has already that he would launch an offer for the wide-man if he were to be left out of Madrid’s UEFA Super Cup clash against United on Tuesday.
