La Liga heavyweights Barcelona seem set to capture Liverpool ace Philippe Coutinho despite being constantly shunned by manager Jurgen Klopp.

The Spanish giants are desperately in need of a high quality forward, after Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain swooped their prized asset, Neymar, in a gigantic £198 million deal.

Coutinho, who has himself expressed his desire to play for Blaugrana, appears to be Ernesto Valverde’s first choice as Neymar’s replacement at present.

However, the Reds’ boss seems to be adamant on not selling his star player, having already rejected two of the Catalans’ bids.

As per the report from Mundo Deportivo, Valverde has agreed to include Andre Gomes along with cash in a swap deal to convince Liverpool to sell the Brazilian, even though the Spanish tactician does not want to get rid of Gomes.

The 24-year-old Portuguese had an underwhelming season at Camp Nou last term, scoring just thrice and setting up only one goal in his 30 appearances for the club. Coutinho, on the other hand, netted 13 goals and bagged 7 assists in the previous campaign.

Earlier, rumors suggested that Rafinha could also be included in the deal, but Barca have rebuffed such claims, stating that an injured player won’t be troubled to that end.
