Italian giants AC Milan’s hunt for a new striker to add to their summer spending spree continues, but the San Siro giants saw their bid for AS Monaco talisman Radamel Falcao get rejected.

The Serie A club wants a big name to lead the attack, but they haven’t been successful in their pursuit yet. According to a report in France Football, Milan saw a €30m offer for Falcao get rejected by the Ligue 1 champions.

Monaco consider Falcao their prime player upfront alongside Kylian Mbappe, as they look to defend their French league honour this season.

Prior to Falcao, Milan were desperate to sign Chelsea outcast Diego Costa, but reports suggested that the forward wasn’t keen on a move to Italy, as he awaits a transfer to his former club Atletico Madrid, who have been banned to sign any player until January.

Milan would be tempted to come with a better bid for Falcao, or even a swap deal involving Carlos Bacca, but it is unlikely that Monaco will entertain the business.

The Ligue 1 2017-18 season already started last week, and the defending champions will not be keen to do business now, as a replacement will be difficult to find in the current market scenario

Falcao gained attention after discovering his form last season, as the 31-year-old striker managed to score an impressive 30 goals across all competitions.

Milan have been hot on their heels this summer, and have gone on to sign a whopping 10 players, and business for a striker will leave them satisfied.

A few days ago, Milan sporting director Massimo Mirabelli did not rule out a chance to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is currently recovering from injury, to show their hunger in a desired forward.
