After two remarkable 4-0 victories against West Ham United and Swansea City respectively, Manchester United now sit comfortably at their once familiar position atop the Premier League table.

However, the talents at the club’s disposal have been in and out of frenzied talks of transfers to other clubs.

Prominent among these names is Anthony Martial, who found himself on the scoresheet on both the occasions. This is despite him coming on as a substitute. The 21-year old starlet even managed to sneak in an assist during the Reds’ match against the Hammers, much to the joy of the Old Trafford faithful.

Now, despite keen interest from Tottenham and Inter Milan, Martial seems adamant on staying at Manchester United and proving his worth. His stellar displays over the two games have been an indication of precisely that.

Furthermore, after Saturday’s win, the Frenchman uploaded a photo on Instagram, in which he was seen beaming and pointing at the club crest upon his jersey. This has been taken by the fans as an indication that he will be staying.

Having been brought by Louis van Gaal from Monaco back in 2015 for a fee that can go as high as £57.6 million, he was put smack in the middle of the limelight. He went on to have an impressive season under the Dutch manager, netting 17 goals in all competitions, which was also the club record for the season.

Moreover, the manner in which he is able to pierce the defense through the wings and dribble his way to several impressive finishes has been widely lauded.

However, under Jose Mourinho, the youngster seems to have lost an easy first team position. His absence from key games last season was quickly noted by club supporters, who feared that the player might be on his way out.

Since then, Mourinho has time and again stressed that Martial is vital to the squad and to his style of play. It is certain that the winger, who can also function as a striker, will be eager to prove his skills to the Portuguese manager and break his way to a regular first team start.
