BIG NEWS: Monaco Finally Ready To Sell Talented Winger
Manchester United and Arsenal have been handed a massive boost in their pursuit of Thomas Lemar, as The Sun believes that Monaco are now willing to sell their star winger.
According to recent reports, the Ligue 1 Champions revealed that there could be three more departures, as the trio of Kylian Mbappe, Fabinho, and Thomas Lemar could all be on their way out of the French island city.
This announcement is in direct contradiction to the announcement Monaco made earlier, wherein they made it clear that there would be ‘no more departures.’ However, as the transfer window enters its last week, the pressure on Leonardo Jardim’s side is heavier than ever.
A few reports in France suggest that Arsenal are currently leading the race to acquire the services of Lemar, while Manchester United are also waiting around the corner to make a move for the winger.
However, if the Gunners were to make a move for the Frenchman, they would have to get rid of a lot of players, as they have an extremely large squad. In fact, following Arsenal’s 1-0 loss at the hands of Stoke City, Arsene Wenger conceded that he wasn’t happy with how big his squad was.
“I expect to sell players. We have too many players. It is not manageable,” he was quoted as saying.
Manchester United, on the other hand, are in pursuit of a reliable wide-man, after talks with Inter Milan over an Ivan Perisic move have lost momentum over the last couple of weeks. So, Jose Mourinho’s administration can try and persuade the Frenchman to move to Old Trafford.
