Philippe Coutinho’s current situation at Liverpool is still a thing of worry for Jurgen Klopp and the fans in red. The player is yet to decide on his immediate future, and thus, the possibility of him walking out of the Anfield doors in the next three days is as high as it can be.
The player has been the Kop’s main man in the past few seasons, and his presence might prove to be the difference between the side being contenders now and champions eventually.
However, as per latest reports coming in from various sources, including that of the Telegraph, the manager does have a backup plan in mind.
After having a stellar season in Ligue 1 last year and guiding Monaco to the title, Thomas Lemar has emerged as a wanted man this summer. Liverpool are reportedly part of the race now too, and are willing to break club records in order to bring the midfielder to Merseyside.

The side from France has already seen the likes of Bakayoko, Mendy, and Silva leave, while they battle to keep Mbappe away from the clutches of PSG. This situation might keep Monaco from selling their midfield general, but with Liverpool offering £55 million for his services, it could be an offer hard to refuse.
Arsenal have been after the player all summer, but after last night’s humiliating 4-0 loss to Klopp’s rampant side, choosing the Reds might be the move any sensible professional will consider making.
Not long is left for the frantic transfer window to officially come to an end, and if Lemar is a priority, the German will have to move fast and now.
