Portuguese winger Nani has joined Italian club Lazio on a one-year loan deal from Valencia.

Nani has move to the Serie A to continue his football journey that has taken him places in his remarkable career. Having signed for Valencia just a year ago, the former Man Utd player is on the move yet again. Lazio have secured an option-to-buy at the completion of the one-year loan spell.

The transfer was completed on the deadline day, as Valencia decided late that they won’t be needing Nani’s services this season. The winger played 25 games for the Spanish outfit last season, in which he scored 5 goals. The Portugal international will now look to help Lazio achieve their objectives for the season.

Valencia confirmed the transfer on their website in a statement that read: “Valencia CF have reached an agreement this Thursday with SS Lazio for the loan of Luis Carlos Almeida da Cunha ‘Nani’ for one season. The Italian club will have the option to buy the Portuguese footballer at the end of the loan period.”

Valencia were forced to loan Nani because of his salary, which was deemed too high for a player his age. The 30-year-old attacker wasn’t keen to move away from the La Liga club, but after Valencia told him that he was not needed, the player decided to make the switch.
