The 2017-18 Premier League season kicked off in August, and with all teams having played three games until now, it has been off to a flyer to say the least. The new names have had an impact, the old guns have gotten back to their best, and the big boys are dominating the top of the table.
The Premier League is without doubt the most exciting league in the world, and is certainly the most action-packed and fast-paced out there. The credit of that majorly goes to the players who have already worked their socks off and ran themselves into the ground for the betterment of their team and the achievement of efficient results.
Credit deserves to be given where due, and according to Chyron-Hego and their Tracab Image Tracking System (via the Mirror), here is a list of the players who have covered the most ground in the Premier League so far this season:
10. Hector Bellerin- Arsenal- 34.6 km
9. Nemanja Matic- Manchester United- 34.9km
8. Wilfred Ndidi- Leicester- 35.1km
7. Jordan Henderson- Liverpool- 35.2km
6. Joe Allen- Stoke City- 35.5km
5. Christian Eriksen- Tottenham Hotspur- 35.5km
A pattern that one can clearly see in the names so far is the majority of them are players form the middle of the park. A stat that clearly shows the efforts a midfielder puts in, on and off the ball.
4. Jack Cork- Burnley- 35.9km
3. Aaron Mooy- Huddersfield- 36.1km
2. Abdoulaye Doucoure- Watford- 36.1km
1. Andrew Surman- Bournemouth- 36.3km
The names in the top 4 category might come as a surprise to many reading. This just goes to show that despite the names that bag the goals and shine in the glory, there are those who give their all on the pitch and never stop running.
