Ronaldo And Nani Advised Bernardo Silva To Join Man City
Manchester City’s new signing, Bernardo Silva, has revealed that he was advised to join Manchester City by two Manchester United icons.
In a news which might be shocking for Manchester United fans, Bernardo Silva has disclosed that Red Devils’ favorites Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani told him to join Manchester City. The news won’t go down well with the United faithful, who would be disappointed to see their icons telling a talented player to join their arch-rivals.
Silva, the former Monaco man, moved to Manchester City in a £43 million transfer this summer. The talented playmaker was one of the hottest properties in the Europe, and even Manchester United were interested in signing him.
The Portuguese midfielder was thought be in the good books of his fellow countryman and United boss Jose Mourinho, but the Special One couldn’t lure the player, as Silva opted to sign for rivals Manchester City instead.
Talking about his transfer, the 23-year-old midfielder revealed the role of Ronaldo and Nani, by stating (via FourFourTwo): “When I was with Portugal at the Confederations Cup and about to sign, I asked Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani about the city. They told me how much they enjoyed it here.”
He continued: “They said that all of the people were great and that it’s a real football city. The Premier League, too — a competitive league with full stadiums each week and everyone watching. They both said it would be a great move.”
