Manchester United Join Race To Sign Roma Sensation
Premier League giants Manchester United have reportedly joined the race to sign Roma’s teen sensation.
Antonucci has been regarded as one of Roma’s top academy stars, and the Italian forward is said to be in talks with the club about his first professional contract.
It was reported that the Italian, who is yet to make his competitive debut for Roma, is wanted by Serie A giants Lazio, AC Milan, and Inter Milan.
But apart from already being on the radar of top Serie A clubs, reports from Transfer Market Web (via Daily Star) suggest that the teenager seems to be on Manchester United’s wish-list as well.
The Old Trafford club has been focused on signing young talents from across Europe since the appointment of Nicky Butt as the head of coach of the Manchester United youth academy. And now, the 18-year-old wide-man is the latest addition to the club’s radar for young talent, after having already signed Coventry City starlet Charlie McCann.
It was also reported that the Red Devils may have to pay a ‘nominal compensation fee’ if the wonderkid moves to Old Trafford before signing a professional contract. Antonucci, who made his debut at Under-18 level for Italy last year in October, is currently on youth terms at Roma until June next year.
