Barcelona Target To Remain At PSG After Hiring Mino Raiola
Barcelona’s pursuit to seek a long-term replacement for Andres Iniesta might come crashing down, following a crucial decision taken by one of their top targets.
The player in question is PSG’s midfield maestro Marco Verratti, who reportedly handed over a transfer request that would take him to the Camp Nou earlier this summer.
However, the 24-year-old has now hired top football agent Mino Raiola as his representative, and this might spell the end of any move away from Paris for quite a while.
The agent is renowned for managing several other big-name players as well, such as Zlatan Ibrahimović, Paul Pogba, and Romelu Lukaku.
Italian outlet CalcioMercato now reveals that the Raiola has no intention whatsoever of letting his player sign with another club anytime soon.
His signing comes after the sacking of the previous agent, Donato Di Campli, due to his failure to help Verratti secure a move away from the Parc des Princes over the summer.
The development would also come as a big blow to Juventus, who along with the Spanish giants, were also highly eager to secure the services of the top rated player.
The same source further reveals that the representative believes that it is in the Italian’s best interest to stay with PSG and develop his talents alongside the likes of Neymar and Mbappe. Not to mention the fact that the increased stay would most definitely raise the player’s price in the future as well.
