Paris Saint-Germain Finally Name Their Preferred Penalty Taker

Paris Saint-Germain have finally decided that Edinson Cavani will remain as the club’s designated penalty taker, reports Marca.

Sunday’s Ligue 1 fixture between PSG and Olympique Lyon saw a rather laughable squabble between the Uruguayan and Neymar Jr. on who should take penalties. Though the Brazilian initially won the spot-kick, Cavani refused to hand over the ball, which sparked a minor argument.

However, the situation has taken a totally different turn on social media, as fans began speculating a built up tension between the two PSG stars. News about Neymar unfollowing his teammate on Instagram soon surfaced, which led everyone to infer that the relationship between the two has  started to deteriorate.

Though the club officials have denied such claims of a cold war between the forwards, fans can’t seem to stop to think otherwise. Consequently, the French giants have come up with a quick decision to ease further confusion on the pitch, which will see the former Napoli man remain as their designated penalty taker.

The decision came as a result of recent meetings held with club president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, according to RMC. Furthermore, the Parisian club reportedly scheduled meetings with manager Unai Emery and Antero Henrique on Wednesday as well.

The former Barcelona man’s €222 million-rated record arrival seemed like an indication of a power shift in Emery’s squad, but Cavani still remains the club’s main man. Though the 25-year-old is still enjoying a good run in the French league, the Cules are surely having a laugh over the incident.
