Barcelona Eager To Sign Griezmann Before World Cup
Antoine Griezmann has emerged as Barcelona’s no.1 target for the summer transfer window, according to reports in Spain.
The Frenchman is widely acclaimed as one of the best players in the world, and Barca look set to capitalize on his willingness to leave Atletico Madrid by triggering his release clause in the summer.
According to El Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan giants are eager to seal the deal before the forward travels with the rest of the France squad for the World Cup in Russia next summer.

Griezmann’s release clause has been set at €100m, but that will not be a stumbling block whatsoever for a side that paid an initial fee of €105 million to secure the transfer of 20-year-old Ousmane Dembele in the previous summer window.
Griezmann was actually intent on signing for the Red Devils this summer, and he almost certainly would have ended up at Old Trafford had it not been for Atletico Madrid’s transfer ban. The 26-year-old continues to be a main target for the Premier League giants, who are eager to bring in more world class players of the Frenchman’s caliber.
Yet, according to reports in Spain, the Atletico Madrid hitman would much rather prefer a move to another La Liga side than to any club in England.
Barca have recently been linked with a number of attacking players, including United starlet Anthony Martial, but manager Ernesto Valverde is willing to put a hold to every other move and focus on the acquisition of Griezmann if he is given the green light to pursue the deal.
