Lionel Messi Wants Barcelona To Sign Two Premier League Players
Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has demanded the club to bring in Premier League’s highly rated midfield pair in the January transfer window, as per reports.
Barca have so far been phenomenal under their new manager, Ernesto Valverde, and are currently first in La Liga despite their 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid last night. But their star forward, Lionel Messi, has urged the officials at Camp Nou to sign new players in the upcoming winter transfer window.
As per Spanish outlet Diario Gol (via Daily Star), the Argentine wants the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Ander Herrera to be signed by next year. Latter being an alternative if La Blaugrana fail to land Coutinho, for whom the Catalan club has already made three unsuccessful bids.
The Brazilian has been a top target for Barca over the past few months, and in spite of being snubbed by Liverpool thrice in the summer window, the Camp Nou club is determined to bring Coutinho to Spain over the coming months.
Though the 25-year-old remains a prime transfer candidate, it was also claimed that Barca have been considering other stars who could make a potential switch over the winter. The likes of Ander Herrera, Juan Mata, and Mesut Ozil are amongst the players who are being closely monitored by the Spanish club’s scouts.
Messi has been impressed particularly with Herrera, and with Fellaini’s excellent form, along with United signing Nemanja Matic in the summer, the Spaniard has been pushed further down the pecking order, which may come as a boost for Barcelona.
Furthermore, the Argentina international does not believe Yerry Mina and Leon Goretzka, who have been heavily linked with moves to Barca, have the potential to be a part of the La Liga giants.
