Wolverhampton Wanderers prodigy Ruben Vinagre has caught the eye of top Premier League clubs with his recent performances, as per reports.
The 18-year-old defender joined Wolves last summer on loan from Ligue 1 giants Monaco, and has made a positive impression in the EFL Championship. The 5 ft 9 in Portuguese lacks in the physical strength department, but his technique and prowess are the qualities which have appealed to his admirers.
And now, as per the Daily Mail, Vinagre is being eyed by multiple Premier League sides, with Everton being the latest addition to the growing list. It was reported that the Toffees were the most recent club to have enquired about the left-back’s availability.
One of the prime reasons why Ronald Koeman is suspected to be after the youngster is because of the ageing Leighton Baines. The veteran has been the first choice for the role for many years, but with age not on his side, Koeman is looking to replace him with Vinagre.
The Cityzens and Gunners are believed to have been closely monitoring the Wolves’ left-back following his performances for Portugal in the Under-17 European Championships in 2016, in which Portugal eventually came out as Champions.
The Red Devils are also keen to bring in a new defender in order to fill in the left-back position, which has been a major area of concern for manager Jose Mourinho.
