Manchester United are serious contenders for the Premier League title this season, having already bagged 7 wins and just 1 unfortunate loss in 10 matches.

However, manager Jose Mourinho has been quick to realise that his midfield roster is not mighty enough to match that of rivals and league leaders Manchester City, especially with the injured Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini not helping his cause.

Therefore, according to recent reports, the Special One is interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal. The Chilean international is certain to leave Munich following a tussle with the club last week, as he is unhappy with the appointment of Jupp Heynckes as Carlo Ancelotti’s replacement.

The new Bayern boss reportedly wants the 30-year-old midfielder out of the Allianz Arena as soon as this coming January, and Mourinho intends to be the first to take advantage of this situation, and fancies his chances of securing the services of the experienced campaigner when the transfer window reopens in January.

Vidal came close to signing for United three years ago, when Louis van Gaal replaced David Moyes at Old Trafford, but the move failed to materialise back then.

However, the former Juventus star looks set to depart from Bavaria this winter, with Inter Milan and Chelsea also keeping tabs on him.
