Barcelona Sent Officials For Two Of United’s Best Players
One of Super Sunday’s main attractions last week was Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. And among the fans enjoying the thriller, there was a certain Barcelona man scouting the superstars belonging to both these top clubs.
According to Calciomercato, Barca scout Robert Fernandez sat among the crowd in London to watch United’s Eric Bailly and Marcus Rashford, along with Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso. The Premier League trio have reportedly sparked immense interest from the Catalans, who have thus decided to keep an eye on them.
Boss Ernesto Valverde is keen on stabilising the Barca defense before the imminent departure of Thomas Vermaelen and Javier Mascherano, who look to be out of favour at the Nou Camp. The Spaniard reportedly believes Bailly could prove to be a potential replacement, alongside Alonso, who can potentially be a backup for the aging Jordi Alba.
On the other hand, Rashford has been on the Blaugrana’s radar for quite some time, much like most young talents in Europe. The young Englishman could certainly prove to be a promising asset for any club, and Valverde appears to be on the lookout for exactly that.
Nevertheless, none of the three players have shown any signs of wanting a departure from their respective clubs, and luring them away from England could prove to be a Herculean task for the La Liga giants. Further, each of them have become a cherished figure in their teams, and could hesitate to make a switch elsewhere.
