Mourinho Will LEAVE If United Fail To Sign Premier League Superstar

Manchester United are reportedly favourites to sign Arsenal star Mesut Özil, and the move could have more of a significance for the Old Trafford outfit than simply securing the signature of a top player.

Özil, much like his teammate Alexis Sanchez, has been at loggerheads with the Gunners over a new contract, and is seeking higher wages if he is to remain at the club. However, the North London side doesn’t appear to be keen on meeting his demands, and talks have stalled as a result.

If nothing is resolved by the winter transfer window, they may be forced to sell the German playmaker, or risk losing him for free in the summer, and arch-rivals Manchester United will look to capitalize on this situation.

However, in light of the claims made by Spanish news outlet Don Balon, signing Özil may in fact be the key to keeping manager Jose Mourinho away from the clutches of Paris Saint-Germain.

The Portuguese boss has flirted with the possibility of moving to the French club in recent weeks, and whether or not he stays put at his current club will depend on the backing he receives during the upcoming transfer windows.

Mourinho is reportedly gunning for four players – a center-back, a left-back, a striker, and a playmaker. Should he not get what he wants, he may soon be on a flight to ‘La Ville Lumière’ at the end of the season. It all starts with Özil, and whether or not United successfully prise him away from the Emirates.
