While Antoine Griezmann is the Atletico Madrid name that has been linked the most with Manchester Utd, the summer saga seems to have no headway going into the winter transfer window.
Instead, a highly rated teammate of the Frenchman is the latest player to be touted for an Old Trafford move.
As per reports in The Sun and in several Spanish outlets, Saul Niguez is highly interested in joining the Red Devils.

The same sources also placed the Spaniard amongst the list of players that Mourinho admires, and a potential move for next summer is thought to be in the works.
At 22, the central midfielder is one that has come on the radar of several clubs owing to his prowess at the heart of things. In fact, Madrid have caught a whiff of the same, and thereby managed to tie down the talent to a whopping nine-year deal last season.
However, the deal also included an eye-catching £133 million buyout clause to scare away potential suitors.
If an agreement is reached, Mourinho will be eager to match Saul up with Paul Pogba in midfield, in a potential partnership that could dictate their presence in the Premier League for several seasons to come.
Niguez has been a boyhood presence with the La Liga side, joining their youth rank at the age of 13, and eventually breaking through into the first team at just 17.
Plus, the player is one of the key assets for the club, and is instrumental in any success they would wish to battle out for between Barcelona and Real Madrid. As of such, Mourinho’s intentions don’t seem like an easy one to bring forth to reality, despite the buyout clause.
