A club is just as strong as its individual talents, and all it requires is a firm headed manager to weave the entire picture together. Recent trends have placed an added importance on signing young players, and it has proven to be very rewarding.
Now, it appears that Manchester United too, are going to step up their transfer game and swoop for a talent that has been widely regarded as one of Europe’s finest.
As per ESPN, the Red Devils have renewed their interest in signing West Ham youngster. The 17-year-old, who functions as a midfielder, has seen much interest arise, particularly from United, PSG and even Arsenal.
However, West Ham were the ones successful in securing his services in 2016, when he signed from the Chelsea youth academy. The latter has proven to be a place where genuinely talented gems have spurred over the years, and Quina appears to be no different.
Although born in Guinea-Bissau, the starlet plays for Portugal at the national level. In fact, the same source stated that United were scouting him during Portugal U-19s’ clash with Spain earlier this week. If that was indeed the case, then he certainly built a strong case for himself, as he found the back of the net during the encounter.
Further, since he is yet to sign a professional contract with the London club, Mourinho will be highly eager to secure his services, perhaps as early as the upcoming transfer window.
He has secured two appearances with West Ham so far, both of them being late tactical substitutions in the Carabao Cup.
However, now that David Moyes is at the helm, and with the outfit eager to improve their sloppy stance in the Premier League, the teenager will certainly find his opportunities for first team football heavily slashed. As of such, a move to the Theatre of Dreams wouldn’t exactly be a bad career choice.
