Antoine Griezmann’s first-person biography, written in collaboration with journalist Arnaud Ramsey, is hitting the market for sale from Tuesday. The book is intriguingly titled “Behind the smile. The life of the little prince as told by himself.”
The decorated forward mentions in his biography that he has “everything to be happy” at Atlético Madrid, and that he learns daily from Diego Simeone. The Frenchman wrote that he would love to “continue doing so,” but also stated that notwithstanding having a contract until 2022, is reluctant to rule out anything.
The biography features the 26-year-old’s beginnings in Macon, until his arrival at the very top of world football. With the final chapter being of the moniker “Eulogy of freedom”, the blessed attacker maintains he has not yet ruled what he would do in the future, and that “it depends on many factors”.
The forward states (via AS): “In June, I extended my contract. I’m linked to the club until 2022. Although I might be missing out on titles, I have everything here to be happy but that does not mean to say I won’t go one day.
“I haven’t made that decision. It all depends on various factors. I have nothing against England, except for the weather. Manchester United is a possibility.”
The French talent further acknowledges that Pep Guardiola coveted him for Barcelona’s B side, and that prior to the World Cup in Brazil 2014, he might have put pen to paper for Tottenham, who anticipated the versatile attacker to replace Gareth Bale.
The Atletico fan-favourite also states his current Spanish side is akin to a family, and that he feels good being part of a project that relentlessly advances.
The exclusive thing that is purportedly clear for the Frenchman is that he will conclude his professional football career in the United States, alike David Beckham, his idol, and resembling Derrick Rose, who he honours in the NBA. He has previously addressed the same with David Villa.
