Manchester United were lucky to escape with a 1-0 win at home against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday, to retain their second spot in the league table behind leaders Manchester City.

Although the Premier League is famous for its unpredictability, manager Jose Mourinho would not have expected such a tough fight from the Seagulls, who simply refused to give up on the afternoon, and were especially terrific in the first half.

The introduction of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in place of Juan Mata, when the scorecard was goalless, certainly helped to lift up the crowd. The Swede’s entry meant Romelu Lukaku had to move to the wing.

The new combination didn’t seem to work as planned, and Lukaku was even seen fighting to track back, winning duels on the field to get the ball.

However, the Red Devils were less concerned about his actions, as they eventually took the lead courtesy of an Ashley Young shot that took a heavy deflection off defender Lewis Dunk.

Romelu Lukaku was seen not be happy with the way he was manhandled after the ball was cleared from a corner. Nevertheless, the camera captured a rather cheeky double kick attempted by the forward.

The Belgian was lucky that none of the referees took notice of the incident and he went unbooked. Mourinho would, however, have warned him of such actions henceforth, as it can turn out to dearly affect the team.
