The Neymar saga still seems to be running its course, in spite of the Brazilian having signed for Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain. The world record £198 million transfer shook the football world to its core, and even more his former employers, Barcelona.

But now, the Catalan giants could be looking at an even worse scenario, with their arch-rivals Real Madrid planning to make a swoop for the coveted forward from PSG.

Los Blancos have been long term admirers of the Brazil international, and are now looking to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu next summer.

Neymar’s release clause at Parc des Princes is said to be £177 million during the first season. Though the initial amount is lower than what PSG actually paid for the star, the stipulation does specify an increase in his value for the subsequent years.

The clause would rise up to £195 million in his second year, and then £221 million by the third.

And as per the report by Diario Gol, Real president Florentino Perez ‘is willing to go to extreme lengths’ in order to acquire Neymar’s services.

His obsession with the 25-year-old has now reached a stage where he is willing to let “four” of his stars leave to make room for his Galactico, whom he sees as a potential replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

It was claimed by the Spanish outlet that the La Liga side is preparing to save upto an amount that would enable them to buyout the 25-year-old next term. And for that, the European Champions are willing to sell Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, James Rodriguez, and Rafael Varane.

With an estimated sum of £71 million for Bale, £53 million for Benzema, and at least £44 million for both Rodriguez and Varane, Madrid would end up with a total of £212 million – Neymar’s second year’s buyout clause – in the bank.
