In the previous summer transfer window, Pep Guardiola showcased his overwhelming talents as a gaffer by bringing in multiple players of high calibre.
In his last two summer windows, however, he has endeavoured to sign Kylian Mbappe. But despite City being willing to pay a world-record fee to bring in the Frenchman, he exhibited no interest in a move to the Etihad.
Another French star, who has all the talents the Spanish gaffer yearns for, is Manchester United star Anthony Martial.

Pep would love to have a versatile player with speed, skills, and composure, who also happens to be extremely lethal in attack.
According to M.E.N Sport, had the France international not joined the Red Devils back in 2015, Guardiola would have lured in the decorated youngster, owing to the fact that he intends to introduce speed and cutting edge to his team’s offence.
Despite having a wonderful debut season, the forward has had a bit of a rough second campaign at Old Trafford. Natheless, hopes for him still remains at its peak, as the ex-Monaco starlet has found consistency now.
Martial’s fellow countryman and United ambassador Mikael Silvestre boldly declared in the summer that the 21-year-old was every bit as talented as Mbappe, who directed a £166m move to Paris Saint-Germain after his exceptional form for Monaco in the previous season.
The wide-man has scored 8 goals in his 20 appearances for the Mancunian giants this season, and it appears likely that he will start against Manchester City in the Premier League fixture next week, which could be a concern for Guardiola.
