‘So You Want To Play With Magic?’ – Mourinho Has A New Mission For Scouts

Jose Mourinho has instructed his scouts to spread out and find him a ‘magician’, reports the Sun.

Despite boasting the likes of Juan Mata, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Paul Pogba, Michael Carrick, Anthony Martial, and Marcus Rashford, Mourinho feels like his side is not creative enough, and is suffering as a result.

It can be argued that his opinion is slightly flawed, given that United had scored a ridiculous 32 goals in just the opening 11 games of the season.

However, the massive drop in the form of Mkhitaryan has coincided with a fall in creativity as well, and United look bereft of ideas at the moment.

Romelu Lukaku is struggling to score, and has just 1 in his last 10. Mata has been poor in the chances he has been given, and Pogba has missed a number of games through injury.

Meanwhile, United’s neighbours, Man City, are absolutely flying in the goals at the moment though, and this is the chief concern for Mourinho. All of their players are in the form of their lives, and it has led to a massive 8 point gap at the top of the table.

Moreover, the Citizens have incredibly gifted players in Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane in the artistic department, as well as a potent strike force in Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus, who rarely ever fail to score.

Reports claim that Mourinho is desperate to avoid losing out to his rival Pep Guardiola, and is determined to reduce the margin between them and their first-placed rivals.

In order to do this, he is eager to sign a creative player capable of unlocking defenses with a single pass in January. He has specifically assigned his scouts to the mission of finding him ‘a magician’, as he believes it will be key in determining what they achieve by the end of the season.

Mesut Özil, who was at his best for Arsenal in the 5-0 drubbing of Huddersfield, has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford, and could be key in Mourinho’s plans for the remainder of the season if he does join.
