Better Than Pogba? Man Utd All Set To Break Club Record To Sign Serie A Superstar
The upcoming winter window will be a short one, and since normal fixtures will continue during the period, clubs generally don’t risk bargaining and putting as much effort as possible into ensuring their preferred targets are brought home with ease.
Jose Mourinho is no different, but his latest pursuit will potentially be an expensive one for the Red Devils, as reports suggest that the transfer will set a new club record, which is saying something, as their current one was the most lavish in the Premier League.
As per Express, Mourinho is willing to splash an initial amount of £95m in order to ensure the singing of Sergej Milinković-Savić from Lazio.

The 22-year-old had reemerged as a target when the Portuguese boss sent scouts to observe his performance, to undoubtedly impressive results.
The Serbian was purchased from Belgian side Genk back in 2015 for a mere £16m, but his antics since have raised the asking price considerably.

In addition to Man Utd, Man City, Juventus, and Barcelona are said to be interested as well, but the Red Devils seem to be significantly ahead in the race.
Further, the potential amount is shy of the actual asking price itself, with Lazio President Claudio Lotito having reportedly quoted a £100m price tag.
But with Fellaini presumably set to leave the club come summer, the amount is one that the master tactician is willing to pay, and owing to the player’s age and midfield brilliance, the investment could be a potent one in the long run.
But most interestingly, Serej is a fine example of the effect of this summer’s mind-boggling transfers.
This has skyrocketed the asking price of a player who, at his age a couple of years ago, would have barely qualified for half the amount, and now, might be all set to beat Pogba’s £89.3m move in becoming the League’s most expensive player.
