Barcelona all but cemented their position at the top of the La Liga table by defeating rivals Real Madrid 3-0 in El Clasico on Saturday.

The strong win was a result of a phenomenal showing by the Catalan giants in the second half, wherein a 10-man Madrid were rendered toothless by goals from Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, and Aleix Vidal, the last being a finale goal in added time.

Needless to say, Los Blancos weren’t too happy with the result, and it was apparent during the encounter too, where frustration clearly ran high. One moment in particular between Sergio Ramos and Luis Suarez strongly caught the eye of Twitter.

In the 59th minute of the match, the Real Madrid captain launched a poor loose tackle against Luis Suarez, and was gifted a yellow card for his antics.

The Spaniard’s history with rash tackles in El Clasicos, leading to subsequent bookings, has been highly apparent. Many believed that the outright attack on Suarez was even worthy of a red card, much like what has happened during the previous encounters.

Twitter was brutal in its judgment, and the poison flowed strong.

Watch Reactions:

However, if one were to look closer at the challenge, Suarez’s reaction does seem a tad bit overdone, as the arm swish couldn’t have possibly done the kind of damage that the Uruguayan seemed to indicate.

Regardless, the night ended in favor of Barcelona, and it seems highly improbable that the Galacticos will get anywhere near their arch-rivals this season.
