Manchester United have added their name to the list of suitors chasing the signature of French international Thomas Lemar.

The AS Monaco player has been one of Europe’s hottest properties, and United manager Jose Mourinho is said to be fond of the player, who he feels could be a vital addition to the squad.

The wide-man was almost certain to join Arsenal in the summer, before a deal broke down on the deadline day.

But now, according to Yahoo, United are ready to rival the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool for Lemar’s signature.

Moreover, a fee in the range of at least £90 million could see the French champions sell one of their star asset.

The report adds that Jose has presented the board with a four-man shortlist for next month’s transfer window, with Lemar’s name on it. The other three players are Ajax’s Justin Kluivert, Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic, and Bordeaux’s Malcom.

Lemar is said to be keen on parting ways with AS Monaco after the club sold four star players over the summer. A move to the Premier League will be an interesting choice given three of his former teammates came to England in the summer.

Meanwhile, Jose wants an attacking player, especially on the wings, and the Portuguese feels it is time to cash in on a prolific youngster after missing out on the experienced Ivan Perisic in the summer.

United are 2nd in the Premier League, and see themselves separated by 13 points from leaders Manchester City. The Reds, who were knocked out by Bristol City in the quarter-finals of the League Cup earlier this week, face a league trip to Leicester next.
