Arsenal are in the lookout for a winger, and it seems like they could likely land one in the upcoming January transfer window.

The London giants have been scouting German side Bayer Leverkusen’s Leon Bailey, and the 20-year-old youngster could soon see himself playing in the Premier League.

Bailey has been in very good form this season in the Bundesliga, and several English clubs are said to be monitoring his situation. However, it is now understood that Arsenal have sealed the race for his signature.

According to Mirror, manager Arsene Wenger sent scouts to watch him last week and followed it up by seeing him once again in his side’s win in the German Cup, that saw them advance to the quarter-finals.

The French tactician is said to be impressed with the feedback he has received, and is keen to land the Jamaican for £30m.

The report also adds that Wenger is likely to come out victorious, after beating the likes of Chelsea and United for Bailey.

The FA Cup holders are set to lose both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez either next month, or in the summer, and need suitable replacements. Bailey is touted to be a likeable option, who could go on to make a mark.

The player moved to Leverkusen last January in a five-year deal, and it would be interesting to see whether the German side cashes in on their prized asset.

The Gunners would be hoping to snap up Bailey soon, and then go for another big signing in the summer window. Wenger will know that the club will need to finish in top four or at least win the Europa League this season to seek attention of star players.
