Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with Bordeaux over the potential transfer of their young sensation, Malcom.

The winger has garnered the attention of a number of elite clubs this season, with his raw talent shining through despite his club’s poor start to the Ligue 1 campaign that has seen them lie just one point above the relegation zone after 19 games.

According to reports in Daily Mail, Bordeaux have begun talks with United about a deal that would see the 20-year-old sign for the English giants, but get loaned straight back to the French club till the end of the season.

Sportsmail have also claimed that Les Girondins are trying to milk as much money as possible from any move, and have slapped a ridiculously hefty price tag of £50 million on the starlet.

Jose Mourinho is desperate to secure the services of a winger as soon as possible, and has the means to meet Bordeaux’s valuation.

However, £50m for a largely unproven 20-year-old, who is still trying to find himself in the professional game, seems far too much.

The Red Devils are reportedly willing to offer the Ligue 1 club a sum of £33 million at the most, and will certainly be forced to look elsewhere if the asking price isn’t brought down.

The Brazilian wonderkid has bagged 7 goals in 18 appearances in the league this season, having joined Bordeaux from Corinthians last season. He has also been watched by Arsenal, but United are said to be favourites at the moment.
