Barcelona recently confirmed the signing of Yerry Mina from Palmeiras, and the player was revealed to the press media today. But more than the flashy tricks he displayed, it was the youngster’s very respectful gesture that won the hearts of the Culés.
The Columbian is regarded as one of the best defensive prospects in Spain, and it seems like the Catalans have managed to secure an absolute steal at €11 million. Moreover, at this young age, the 23-year-old’s move to a powerhouse like Barca speaks for itself.
However, despite trying to nutmeg his dad during a photo session or even dancing for the journalists and photographers present there, none impressed the entertainment loving Spanish crowd more than what he did before stepping on the pitch for the first time.
The young defender proceeded to take his boots and even socks off before stepping on to the Camp Nou pitch and remained for a moment in what seemed like a prayer – something he does every time he steps on to the pitch of a new club, which won the hearts of even neutral supporters.
It’s easy to assume that Mina is on the course of becoming a fan-favourite in the near future, especially with the talent that’s yet to be developed with a long career ahead.
