Twitter Reacts To Guardiola’s Ridiculous Claims Regarding Transfer Spending
It is of no doubt that certain claims might not agree with every individual on the same level. But some of them are so outlandish and ridiculous that it indeed takes a special kind of loyalty for even the closest supporters to abide by them.
Football isn’t a stranger to such utterances, and Pep Guardiola is the latest victim. The Man City manager claimed that his club did not have big enough of a budget to dish out on expensive signings.
The Spaniard also stated that his side wasn’t in a position to splash £80 million or so for a single player, which is surprising, as the club’s cumulative transfer purchases in the summer window amounted to a hefty £198.7 million on five signings.
Even as Guardiola claimed this, speculations ran rife about the Sky Blues closing in on a supposed £57 million deal for Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte. If the deal goes through, and it increasingly seems like it, the 23-year-old will be the club’s record signing.
As is often the case, Twitter wasn’t one to stay quiet on the statement, and several stormed to the micro-blogging site to make their views on the claims known to all.

Arsene Wenger has won more in 18 months with 3 times less budget, and Arsenal fans want him out, meanwhile Pep Guardiola is GOAT. What a joke! https://t.co/VjJEVn7DAH

The sheer audacity of Pep Guardiola to say Manchester City don't have the money to compete for 4 trophies is not only pathetic, but embarrassing. £400m+ not including the £65m on Aymeric Laporte.
When he said that I'm surprised he didn't burst at the seams he's so full of shit.

Pep Guardiola: “You need 22 top players to compete in four competitions. The money we don’t have; it’s so expensive, you can’t survive, even City.”
Money spent since 2008 – £1.3 BILLION.

Guardiola may be having a personal chuckle to himself over the statement, but the numbers are out there for all to judge. With his side performing quite well so far this season, bits like this are certainly a rarity when it comes to laughing worthy content.
His press reaction to City’s next big signing ought to be an interesting one.

All we know is that Mourinho is a bus parker and he’ll always be. Be it with the money of Manchester United or Real Madrid, or without the money. There are bus parkers and there is the best tactical and innovative coach in history. Guardiola deserves every penny of the money he earns or spends on players for the simple reason he is in a norm of his own. Haters will keep hating and the conspiracy of the English fedeartion will turn out to be fruitless. Break the legs of Sane, allow Firminho’s goal, disallow Bernardo Silva’s goal and he’ll still win everything!
