When it comes to reliability for transfer news, social media perhaps is the most inconsistent source to follow. But when a linked player himself starts to post potential hints, fans can do nothing but get themselves excited.

That’s exactly what happened when Paris Saint-Germain star Thomas Meunier posted an appreciation tweet regarding fellow countryman Romelu Lukaku following his heroics against Chelsea.

The Belgian was clearly impressed by striker’s inspirational performance against the Londoners, in a match that ended 2-1 in favour of the hosts. The former Everton man managed to grab a goal as well as an assist to see his side through.

Following the drama at Old Trafford, the PSG star proceeded to cheer for his international teammate for the victory, and many Man Utd supporters think this could be a hint towards his desire to play for the Red Devils.

The full-back has been linked with a move to Man Utd several times in the past, and is said to be a potential replacement of the aging Antonio Valencia.

However, Meunier currently remains close to being completely out-of-favour at the Parc des Princes, following the arrival of Dani Alves.

Further, the 26-year-old himself has not been shy of expressing his admiration for the Premier League giants, and has publicly admitted he is a fan to Belgian news outlet DH.

With just 10 starts to his name in Ligue 1 so far this season and almost legitimate interests from England, it wouldn’t be surprising if Meunier fancied his chances of clinching a spot under Jose Mourinho.
