Manchester United regained the second spot in the Premier League from arch-rivals Liverpool after securing a dramatic victory over Crystal Palace last weekend.

However, the race for the Top 4 still hangs very much in the balance, with both the giants set to take on each other in a blockbuster fixture this Saturday.

Liverpool have been on fire in recent weeks, and having qualified for the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League on a massive 5-0 aggregate, Jurgen Klopp’s men would have their eyes set on the visit to Old Trafford.

And with that being said, United too, would be raring to go all out against the Reds, with whom they share a century-old rivalry. But the Old Trafford outfit would certainly have to neutralize one major threat, who goes by the name of Mohamed Salah, if they seek to secure all three points at home.

Liverpool’s ‘Egyptian King’ has been simply phenomenal in his debut season for the Merseyside club, and is neck and neck with Tottenham Hotspur’s star striker, Harry Kane, in the race for Premier League’s top scorer award.

Salah was part-rested for the Reds’ Champions League Round of 16 home leg before he eventually came on as a 74th-minute substitute. However, the 25-year-old is expected to return to the starting XI for his side’s trip to Manchester.

United have had Ashley Young at left-back for the majority of the season, and the 32-year-old would have to deal with the Egypt international if he starts in the high-profile matchup.

But the Old Trafford faithful seemed to be unconvinced that Young could cope up with Salah, and thus, have named Luke Shaw to be their first-choice pick against the pacey winger.

United boss Jose Mourinho brought on Shaw for Young against Palace, and the move completely changed the dynamic of the game. Fans too, have noticed the former Southampton star’s improvement over the past few months, and believe that he would be an ideal option against the Reds.
