Man Utd are ready to tempt Alex Sandro with an offer that will see him get double the wages he currently earns at Juventus.

The Red Devils are desperate to strengthen their options in defense, especially in the full-back areas. Jose Mourinho does not trust Matteo Darmian, who has rarely managed to get a game under his belt this season, and looks destined to leave in the summer.

Ashley Young has been one of the stories of the season, but is approaching 33, while Daley Blind is also struggling to find minutes, and could join Darmian out the door in the summer.

Mourinho wants to keep Luke Shaw at the club, and is ready to make him an integral part of the squad.

However, the Portuguese is eager to sign someone more experienced in the position to take over from Young, hence the interest in Sandro.

The Brazil international is also capable of operating as a right-back, which would be perfect for Man Utd considering Antonio Valencia is now 32, and yet without any competition for his spot in the starting XI.

Juventus are holding out for a fairly large sum of £70 million, which has essentially gotten rid of most of the clubs enquiring about his availability. Man Utd, though, are set to spend big again in the summer, and are not afraid to flex their financial muscle.

According to The Mirror, Ed Woodward and co are prepared to offer Sandro a weekly wage of £145,000, which is double the amount he currently earns at Juventus.

Mourinho has already confirmed that he will not focus on an attacking player in the summer, so signing the 27-year-old wide-man looks more likely than ever.
