WATCH: The Terrible Thing Morata Did During Chelsea’s Loss Against Barcelona
The defending English Champions, Chelsea, crashed out of the UEFA Champions League after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Barcelona at Camp Nou last night.
On a night to remember for Lionel Messi, who reached a milestone of 100 Champions League goals with a stunning brace, there was another star wearing the Blues’ jersey who would want to forget the humiliating clash.
Chelsea striker, Alvaro Morata, seemed to be completely off his usual self, as he let the Camp Nou crowd get to his mind, and more importantly, his actions, whilst on the pitch.
It was always going to be difficult for the 25-year-old, considering his Real Madrid ties, and it didn’t help the Spaniard’s confidence when he was left on the bench by Blues’ manager, Antonio Conte.
However, he was brought on as a substitute for the final half hour of the fixture, but things went south from the moment he stepped on the Camp Nou field.
Of course, his arrival was met with deafening whistling, along with several chants suggesting he lacked balls. And that was enough to exasperate the forward, who in turn responded in a rather demeaning fashion.

As per a report in Spanish outlet Marca, while Morata prepared to defend a corner, he looked towards Barcelona’s supporters and grabbed his testicles as he shook his hand.
The Spanish media hasn’t taken this ‘lewd gesture’ by the forward kindly at all, and a few pundits have already stated that he must be punished for his actions.
“Morata’s gesture looks intentional. I hope he’ll be punished,” said Pundit Jota Jordi on El Chiringuito TV.
Journalist Paco Garcia Caridad added: “There is no mitigation. It’s Chelsea who has to punish Morata.”
Meanwhile, after the match, Conte explained his decision to bench Morata by stating: “For sure when you take this decision to play with Eden, Willian and a striker as a point of reference, you must be very good to have a great balance and not lose this balance. I saw a great commitment from all the players, who wanted to play with all our potential.”
