Mancunian Giants To Battle It Out For Bayern Defender’s Signature

Manchester United are keen on signing Bayern Munich superstar Jerome Boateng, but face immense competition from rivals Manchester City.

According to The Sun, there is a fair share of chance of the German international departing the Allianz Arena in the summer, and the Mancunian giants are set to lock horns in order to secure this £50 million transfer.

Boateng left the blue side of Manchester in order to pursue his dream of playing for his country back in 2011. And after just 3 years since making his debut for the Bavarians, the former City man lifted the FIFA World Cup trophy in 2014.

Though his career was stagnated two seasons ago due to a serious thigh injury, the German has managed to pick his form back up and perform at the top level yet again.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola is said to be keen on a reunion with the centre-back, after leading him to 3 Bundesliga titles. The Spaniard believes the World Cup winner is the man to secure his side’s defence, despite having met no match to their performances this season.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are set to battle it out for defender’s signature, in order to introduce a partner for Eric Bailly and exponate their defensive prowess.

However, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also said to be interested in the 29-year-old, and could bring changes to the situation.
