Jean-Michael Seri is once again the subject of some serious interest from Manchester United, who are set to go up against Manchester City in the race for his signature, according to Manchester Evening News.
Both clubs are eager to bring in new midfielders in the summer to replace their own ageing stars, and Seri appears to be the ideal replacement for both Manchester giants.
United are set to lose Michael Carrick in the summer to retirement, while Marouane Fellaini could also leave on a free transfer after failing to agree a new contract with the club.
This has led Jose Mourinho to focus his summer transfer window budget on the recruitment of a new midfielder, and Seri features high on his wishlist.

The midfielder is described as an attack-minded ball winner, and would be a perfect fit in a midfield trio alongside Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba.
However, Pep Guardiola feels as though he would fit equally well in City’s midfield, alongside David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne.
The Cityzen’s boss is on the lookout for a long-term replacement for Fernandinho, who is 32 and approaching the end of his career.
According to the report, Guardiola feels his side rely too heavily on the Brazilian to do the dirty work, and signing Seri would lift that burden off his shoulders.
Hence, it looks like a battle that could go down to the wire between United and City. With both sides heavily backed in terms of funding, money certainly won’t be the deciding factor in the race for the Ivorian.
