Transfer amounts still seem to be stuck in the awkward limbo between reasonable estimates and utterly bonkers inflations after the cash-rich sessions that were this season’s transfer windows.
However, a return to sanity might be on its way back, and one can hope for fairly accurate deals in the windows to come, if not situations where free-agents are signed by clubs – certainly a scenario that seems the best suiting.
But one club that has had to unexpectedly deal with the prospect of a player leaving is United, whose attempt at giving Anthony Martial a bumper extension to his contract was in vain, as the Frenchman rejected all offers, and reportedly wants to move away in the summer.
This further fueled the interest of clubs like Juventus, PSG, Atletico Madrid, and Tottenham, who were already monitoring the 22-year-old. However, one of them could acquire him for a bargain.

As per France Football, Martial’s estimated fee ought to be only in the region of €45 million or so. This is a figure that Spurs will be more than willing to pay up, with chairman Daniel Levy believed to be very inclined in acquiring the talented forward.
Martial’s reasons to leave are attributed to being surplus to requirements at Old Trafford. While he was able to enjoy a fairly good season, the winter arrival of Alexis Sanchez meant his starting spot was more or less gone for good.
Keeping this is mind, the estimate of the source stems from his form and performances, as well as the fact that he has just one year left on his current contract, albeit with an option to extend for another season.
But with United interested in acquiring defenders Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld, a deal for Martial will certainly sweeten up the negotiations. Despite that, the amount seems far too less for a player who, at his best, seems akin to a magician at work.
