Arsenal are set to meet United at Old Trafford in what will be Wenger’s last trip to the Theatre of Dreams as manager of the Gunners.

The London side will be going with a side that will be far from its best, as Wenger’s intention for winning the Europa League will mean that the likes of Ozil, Wilshere, Ramsey, Mustafi and even Lacazette will be left behind for the big game.

The outing to Manchester hasn’t always been the most successful of ventures for Arsenal, but their twitter feed might have you believe otherwise.

Their prematch tweet reads:

Phrasing is the devil here, for while technically correct, the actual statistics paint a very unflattering picture.

Get ready for it – the former United striker has scored a whopping grand total of two goals at Old Trafford. That’s right. TWO.

Arsenal Hero: ‘I Regret Not Joining Manchester United’

For context as to how underwhelming of a figure that is, Jesse Lingard managed to score two goals at the Emirates in just one game when the giants clashed earlier this season.

Needless to say, Twitter took great note of this stat and gunned the tweet down by trolling the club.

A really sad record to point out, which further indicates just how disastrous the trips to Old Trafford have been for them.

In fact, their other goal tallies don’t hold quite well either, with the likes of Robin van Persie, Olivier Giroud, Thierry, and Cazorla tied with none other than a Tyler Blackett own goal for the one goal spot.

With a weakened side ready to take on a United team that despite follies of its own elsewhere, has managed an impeccable record against the top 6 sides this season, it seems very unlikely that the Gunners will find any respite this time around.

And if they do, let’s hope Welbeck can improve that joke of a tally and make said tweet have a bit of substance at least.
