Regarded as the best goalkeeper in the world right now, time has indeed gone by since David de Gea arrived at Manchester United back in 2011 under former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
De Gea was raw and a player that was taking time to get accustomed to England and the Premier League. The 27-year-old has revealed the two games during his initial years in which he was outstanding and that gave him immense confidence moving forward.
Back then, Juan Mata was in prime form, and enjoyed successful years at Chelsea, fo which he was awarded the club’s Player of the Year on successive occasions. In February 2012, Chelsea hosted United at Stamford Bridge and were leading 3-0 before the Red Devils staged a 3-3 comeback.
The goalkeeper has gone on to claim that current teammate Juan Mata is still mad at him for making an exceptional save from a free-kick that looked destined to go into the net.

“It might have been the defining moment of my United career. From there, it got better and better. Juan is still p***** off about that one,” De Gea told Daily Mail.
The next big moment for De Gea was in the game against Tottenham Hotspur in his second season, where he made a handful of saves after earlier having been criticised by Gary Neville.
Meanwhile, Mata eventually joined the Mancunian club during the January transfer window in 2014 under former manager David Moyes.
Since then, the playmaker has gone on to become a vital cog in the set-up. Mata may have lost the defining moments he enjoyed at Chelsea, but nonetheless, he has had the trust of his managers up till today.
