In the hopes of reestablishing discussions over a new contract, Marouane Fellaini’s representative is expected to be in Manchester before the end of the week, as per the latest reports.

On Monday, Jose Mourinho had claimed that an agreement was already in place to extend the midfielder’s stay at Old Trafford, and that the player is already looking forward to play in the United kit next season.

Nevertheless, the Belgian has always been on the lookout for greener pastures, and has been reiterating that he wishes to seize new challenges at new clubs, even opening the door to the Chinese League.

Further, in a recent interview, the talented figure was clearly critical of the Mancunian club’s approach. But the former Everton star did state that all of the staff members want him to stay put at the club.

“The entire (United) staff is doing everything so I can stay. The club did not renew my contract last year. Now I am in a strong position, especially since Mourinho has stated that he wants to keep me.

“Last year I went to the coach and I said that I wanted a new contract. I then had a second meeting, but I will not ask it 10 times.

“Afterwards I became important for the team and a good player costs at least €50million. The club knows that they went wrong there.”
