The France international hasn’t been receiving regular game-time at the Old Trafford outfit since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January, which has led to emergence of reports hinting at the youngster’s unhappiness in Manchester.
The 22-year-old has since been linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe, viz. Barcelona and Juventus, but one powerhouse that has consistently been a likely destination for Martial has been Arsenal.
As per reports, the Gunners had initially demanded the Frenchman as part of the swap deal that saw Alexis head to the Theatre of Dreams in the winter window. However, Man Utd refused to give in, and sent Henrikh Mkhitaryan to London instead.

Amid this speculation, Arsenal legend Robert Pires has indirectly urged his former club to fight for the signature of Martial, by expressing his admiration for his fellow compatriot.
In a recent interview with Bwin, Pires admitted: “I’m a big fan of Anthony Martial. I don’t know why he isn’t playing more for Man Utd and Mourinho needs to show more confidence in him. I would welcome him at Arsenal!”
During the game, Martial was handed a rare start in a free attacking role, but he failed to grab the chance spectacularly. His performance was mediocre to say the least, which later prompted Mourinho to justify his decision to avoid starting the Frenchman on a regular basis.
