It is hard for players to say no when clubs like Man Utd come knocking. Even former greats like Pele have admitted that staying rooted to one club, while a romantic prospect, doesn’t beat the possibility of joining bigger names and moving about the top tiers of European football in particular.

As of such, several youngsters find themselves in precarious positons of entertaining offers from giants after a mere season or two of exceptional performances.

Fortunately for them, many agents are pushing for the need to move away into bigger leagues, and the agent of one Man Utd target is no different.

Ajax’s 19-year-old Justin Kluivert has been reportedly targeted by the Red Devils for a long time, and the player refusing to renew his contract has led many to believe that a move is imminent.

Now, Ajax CEO Edwin van der Sar has said as much in an interview with Dutch outlet NOS: “We have been talking for ten months now, and we are also a bit done with it. He is difficult to keep.”

He went on to reveal the main influencing factor behind the starlet’s stalling: “His agent (Mino Raiola) pushes him towards the exit, which is a shame, because it is not our intention that players aged eighteen or nineteen leave the club, that is not the philosophy of Ajax.”

The player himself seems to be still on the fence, as he says: “I do not know if I have played my last match at Ajax Yes, I have already made my choice a bit, but it will all come in the coming weeks.”

The left winger is the son of legend Patrick Kluivert, and it is understandable that Raiola, who has other big names under his belt, is pushing for such a move.
