Paul Pogba has been featured in his fair share of transfer exit headlines over the past few months, with a series of below-par performances and an alleged lack of rapport with Jose Mourinho being cited as the reasons.

With significant showing in some of the recent games, the first of the issues has been half-dealt by the Frenchman, while repeated insistence that the player-manager relationship is perfectly alright have also been made.

Despite all this, there still exists a strong sense that the 25-year-old will, in fact, make a switch, and one, in particular, arrives from a credible name.

French journalist Didier Roustan, who has had prior stints with Canal, TF1, and L’Equipe, was speaking to French TV, and has been quoted by Le10 Sport as saying: “We can see Pogba on PSG’s team next year.

“I think they will put together the package to get him. Mourinho doesn’t want him anymore, but he hesitates to return to the championship of France.”

This is quite a bold claim to make, and does bring into question the possibility of the saga occurring. It is no secret that PSG wish to make a team that hosts impeccable talent in each position, and that acquiring a player of Pogba’s caliber would be the perfect deal.

Further, the French connection certainly does seem alluring. But going by the statement, it is easy to see why the Ligue 1 may not be an appealing prospect for the former Juventus star.

One obvious pro is being able to play alongside Neymar, but the Brazilian himself may not view the league as a massive challenge despite multiple club sources trying to prove otherwise.

Regardless, if Mourinho is, in fact, eager to sell Pogba, a lot of interesting things could occur, including the possibility of yet another record-breaking transfer that involves the France international.
