United have proposed a swap deal to Atletico Madrid in the hopes of signing Antoine Griezmann.

The Red Devils have been long-term admirers of the France international, and they almost secured his services last summer, only to get turned down by the player due to the transfer ban imposed on the La Liga outfit.

The English giants have since fallen behind Barcelona in the race for Griezmann’s services, with some sources even claiming that United had given up their pursuit altogether after having landed Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.

However, if the latest report from Don Balon is to be believed, the Mancunians are still very much interested in signing the Frenchman, and they have proposed a lucrative swap deal in order to finalise the transfer.

The Spanish outlet fails to mention precisely which player Jose Mourinho intends to offer in exchange for the Atletico talisman, but if the previous reports related to United’s transfers are any indication, Anthony Martial could quite possibly be the one.

Along with a player, the English juggernauts are also willing to offer £88 million in cash, so as to come out on top in the battle for the in-demand 27-year-old.

The report does add that Atletico will only accept United’s offer if Barcelona do not table a bumper deal first.

Several sources have claimed that Griezmann’s transfer to the Catalan club is all but done. But when the forward himself was asked about his future, he replied: “If I’m going to continue at Atletico, I don’t know, we’ll see. We’re talking to the club to see what can be done.”

Where do you think Griezmann will end up post summer 2018?
