Brazilian Star Not Included In World Cup Squad, Transfer To Become Reality Soon
Fortune may favour United in the transfer market. The Mancunian giants have been repeatedly linked with defensive transfers by virtue of trying to build a complete team.
The left-back position is one of major worry owing to the looming departure of Luke Shaw and the lack of long-term compliance in fielding veterans.
In centre-back as well, Smalling and Jones have been doubtful partners for Eric Bailly. Last season’s signing, Victor Lindelof, was not up to the mark either. World-class talent may now arrive on all these fronts.
Now, a World Cup-related decision may ensure one target fills a much-awaited spot.

As per Calciomercato, Alex Sandro to Old Trafford could become a reality soon. The Brazilian was left out of Brazil’s provisional squad for the World Cup, under the shadow of Marcelo and Filipe Luis, who have been chosen as left-backs.

This is in line with a generally poor campaign for the 27-year-old, who has struggled to come out on top at Juventus as well.
He has been a highly-sought player for quite a while now, and Chelsea were understood to be very close to signing him last summer. However, having sold Leonardo Bonucci and Dani Alves already, the Italian giants didn’t comply.
But things might be different this summer, and the report adds that a €50 million fee may be enough for United to bring him to the Premier League. Other reports also claim that the Reds have already made contact with the player’s representatives.

They aren’t alone in the race though, as PSG are also thought to be in the running to secure his signature.
Further, sources believe that if United have indeed made the requisite contact, then a deal could be finalized and announced as early as Saturday, after the FA Cup final.
However, Sandro’s arrival could spell the end of Luke Shaw’s tumultuous stay at United.
