Manchester United could be landing their first player of the summer transfer window from French club AS Monaco, as an imminent deal is reported to be agreed very soon.

Mourinho wants to add full-backs to the squad in order to have more depth and steel, as several current players are already on the transfer list submitted by Jose to the club.

But it is understood that Frenchman Djibril Sidibe is the player that is most likely to move to Old Trafford. The defender was recently named in the 23-man France squad for the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup.

According to a report in Le 10 Sport, the deal could be done in the next 24 hours itself, as United want to do some business prior to the World Cup that kicks off from June 14.

United are believed to be in advanced talks with Monaco, and expect to get business done quickly. There is one stumbling block though: Monaco are seeking £52m for the player, and the English club will look to lower the sum.

Sidibe is a versatile player, who can feature both as a full-back and a midfielder. He has been a vital cog at Monaco, and helped them to the Ligue 1 trophy last season. The former Lille player has made a total of 79 outings for Monaco in two seasons.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are also believed to be keeping tabs on other options such as Alex Sandro and Sime Vrsaljko. The latter is also a sound option for Jose, given his latest exploits with Atletico Madrid in the Europa League.
