Manchester United are prepared to swoop in for Douglas Costa if Juventus fail to make his loan deal permanent.

The Brazilian international spent the 2017-18 season in Turin, and was instrumental in helping Juve retain the Serie A title, as he bagged an impressive tally of 7 goals and 13 assists throughout the campaign.

Despite impressing one and all and being one of the best players in the Serie A, the forward’s future remains far from uncertain, as the Old Lady outfit is yet to decide whether or not to permanently sign the 27-year-old.

Juventus paid Bayern Munich a fee of £7m upfront before the loan switch, and as per the agreement, they can make the transfer permanent by coughing up a reasonable price of £33m.

However, with the Italian giants looking to reinforce their central midfield, they reportedly wish to focus on bringing in world-class midfielders instead of finalising the deal for Costa, which has led to the emergence of links with Paul Pogba and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

But their indecisiveness could lead to Manchester United’s gain, as the latest report from The Sun indicates that the Red Devils are prepared to swoop in for the former Shakhtar Donetsk man if Juve allow him to return to Bayern.

Costa will cost United an astonishing £79m, but Jose Mourinho is prepared to meet that valuation in order to strengthen his team’s frontline.

In spite of Juventus’ transfer priorities, however, Massimiliano Allegri wishes to keep hold of the star forward, which gives the Mancunian giants a 40 percent chance of actually landing the player this summer.

With three different possible destinations, where do you think the talented Brazilian will eventually end up plying his trade next season?
